I am delighted to be one of the artists selected for the travelling exhibition organised by the curators of the Santorini Biennale. The purpose of the exhibition is to" travel " the values and the name of Greece across many cultures.

I happened to be working on some paintings having visited Meteora when the competition caught my eye and as I strongly agree with the views underpinning the exhibition I decided to enter.

You might find the clip below, provided by my good friend George Vasdekys, interesting and good fun to look at in this context!!

I am hoping to exhibit the Meteora paintings in London next year (2013) and will be posting details in due course.

Inside/outside: materialising the social | Tate

Inside/outside: materialising the social | Tate Spent today at the Tate at the symposium in the Tanks. Claire Bishop was really clever and thoughtful. Loved the piece by Lin Chi -Wei "Tape Music", an 120 meter long tape with embroidered phonetic characters which was born out of a desire to play electronic music through human bodies ...a wonderful piece, exquisitely simple. Also Jelili Atiku's Gbangbayahu whose candid presentation of  his practice which uses performance and political action to try to remould society was really illuminating.

I am so looking forward to setting up Gaucho Sunset on Reeves beach on Thursday....I am in a good place!! Hope to see you there.

Mileskm

Had the most amazing collaboration with Ignacio Canete Sanchez! For those of you who didn't make it to the Bussey Building, these are the images of our final piece. Let me know what you think!!

Friday, 23 March 2012

I am really looking forward to being Part of this!!

I just thought I'd let you know about one of the art projects I am involved in over the next six months in case you might like to pitch up and have a look!!

I am having the most amazing time making work for the following exhibitions/events: Miles/km (Bussey building, Peckham), Parallax (Chelsea Town Hall in May), Post-View  (Horsebridge  Centre in June) , Beach Installation (Whitstable Oyster Festival in July). I will send out more information about these nearer the time.

March 29th (yes, next Friday...) I am exhibiting a collaborative piece made with an amazing artist  based in Madrid , Ignacio Canete Sanchez... at an exhibition called Miles/KM at the Bussey building in Peckham. There will be forty artists involved in collaborative work which will make an interesting show. Most of us are working together for the first time and the final collaborative pieces are the result of much communication and negotiation, a true meeting of minds.
